How to Anlyze tracks in 'Files' not in Collection?

Postby Goochie01 on 25 Sep 2014, 11:47

Hi Guys
total Newbie here so thank you in advance for any help.
I much prefer to use my music collection from the Files tab, fully organised in folders from external Hard drive.
Is there any way I can Analyze them while in the Files Tab without putting them into Collection tab? The 'Analyze button is permanently turned off within the Files Tab??

Also everytime I open Mixvibes it Analyzes each folder when opened?
Is there a way to stop this happening?

many Thanks
Goochie.

Hi. Welcome to mixvibes.

No you can't analyze in files.

You really should consider using the collection. Organising in folders is not to helpful. You're lacking all sorting and search functions Cross offers. The collection is a database that is upto a 1000 times faster than using files system.
Also folder oriented provide one dimensional search where as collection has search on many track tags.

There are quick search options in the column browser of the collection. This simple option already makes selecting on genre artist amd album possible.

You can use location field in the collection if yoy like. Most likely in the near future you'll be glad that don't have to bother about fole location other than some high level decisions.

If you for whatever reason want to use the file approach ypu coilf create a temporary collection add all tracks and analyse all.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
