OK this is the 1st attemp so I need your feedback in order to fix any bugs since I can't test it.

The map is done for CrossDJ/Cross version 3.2.
Button names will appear in parenthesis in the explanation below.
I also included a text file with the same text below within the zip. file.

Your Shift keys are
(DISC EJECT) and
(EXIT) just below the (1,2,3) Buttons.

Whenever I mention the "Shift+" it means either the (DISC EJECT) or the (EXIT) buttons. Either one activates shiftlogic #1

Added functionality to control Sampler pads using button (CLR1), (CLR2), (CLR3), (1), (2), and (3) by adding a mode switch.

MEMO= Mode switch. It switches between locator mode and sampler mode for the buttons mentioned above.

This is a toggle switch. Press once =Sampler mode and the LED above (EXIT) will blink. Press again and is back to Locator mode and the LED above (EXIT) will be steady ON.

Locator Mode

(CLR1)= Clear Locator 1
Shift+ (CLR1)= Clear Locator 4

(CLR2)= Clear Locator 2

Shift+ (1)= Play Sampler 1 Pad4

(2)= Play Sampler 1 Pad2

FigDJ,
I tested your mapping and for the first attempt it works really great!
Here are some comments and things which are not working as expected:

MEMO= Mode switch. It switches between locator mode and sampler mode for the buttons mentioned above.
:right: I have to press SHIFT+ (MEMO) to switch the mode.

This is a toggle switch. Press once =Sampler mode and the LED above (EXIT) will blink. Press again and
is back to Locator mode and the LED above (EXIT) will be steady ON.
:right: There is no LED effect neither when the sampler is active, nor in the locator mode.

Shift+ (PARAMETER) ROTATE= Change Active Browsable--Browse horizontally
:right: I can see no effect with Shift+ (PARAMETER) ROTATE

(REVERSE)= Activate reverse playback ***Holder***
:right: it does not work as a holder button, but as a toggler (same as Shift+ (REVERSE))

I think you forgot 2 features in your documentation:
(DUMB) = Transform
(AUTO LOOP SET) = Sets & Activates/Inactivates the auto loop function

Do you use functions of the original hybrid mode of the DN S3700 or are these all pure MIDI commands?

Big thanks to you :D

Thank you for the feedback. I will take a look at the map in regards to your feedback to fix it the minor bugs. These are all MIDI commands.

OK

1st for the easy stuff. You are correct I forgot to include some documentation.

(DUMB) = Transform
(AUTO LOOP SET) = Sets & Activates/Inactivates the auto loop function

Next
The LED above the EXIT button. I found that I ommitted couple of commands. I included a fix now a tet to see if it works.

Test #1
Upon initial power-up the LED should be ON.
if that is OK then

Test #2
Short press the MEMO button
The LED above the EXIT button should blink indicating that you are in Sampler mode.
If that is OK then got to test #4
If it is not OK go to test #3

Test #3
Long (1to 2 seconds) press the MEMO button
The LED above the EXIT button should blink indicating that you are in Sampler mode.

If it is OK and you are OK with having to do a "long press" to swithc modes then we are done with this one. If you are not keen on using a "long press" then a more suitable button to perform that function must be mapped.

If it is not working then a more suitable button to perform that function must be mapped.

In this case my suggestion is to use the EXIT button to switch modes and the eject button as the shift modifier. However, that would not allow you to control access to Locator or pads 4-6 with one hand as you expressed it is your preference.

Perhaps A/B TTIM or NEXT TRACK to switch mode.

Test #4
1. Go to expanded collection view
2. Click on a track to select it.
3. Rotate the PARAMETER knob

You should see the selection move up and or down.

4. While holding the (EJECT) which is equal to a Shift button
move the PARAMETER knob.

You should the the colunm selection change from track-->to node
-->collection tree or the other way around

If it is OK were are done with this one.
If it is not, then I have to do some changes.
Let me know the result on this one

I reviewed the code for "REVERSE" and found no errors. Perhaps it is a device hardware function at play here.

All of this usingthe version 2 below.

I don't have the controller so it is impossible for me to test it. For now I am waiting on feedback in order to take care of any bugs. After those are resolved, then perhaps I can tackle additional functions.

So finally my test results:

Test #1 failed. The LED is not on if the player is powered and switched to (hybrid) MIDI.
On Test #2 the LED function failed too. (but the sampler function is now activated by only pressing MEMO)

For your information: for Test #3 you are not able to use the MEMO button, because a long press on MEMO activates a player specific function to enter the settings menu of the player.

Test #4: Points 1 - 3 are working like you described, but 4 (switching the columns) is still not working.

For the REVERSE button I think so too - it is probably fixed to the hardware.

By the way for anybody reading this: I never tested it before, but now I figured out that the DN-S3700 is only working with the mode "Hybrid MIDI" in Cross. The mode "MIDI" is not able to control PLAY/PAUSE nor the plattern.

OK, so I still got to figure out the LED or find a different way to indicate when sampler mode is active.

DJ_Promille wrote:(but the sampler function is now activated by only pressing MEMO)

OK, this indicates to me that the sampler mode function is now working properly.

DJ_Promille wrote:For your information: for Test #3 you are not able to use the MEMO button, because a long press on MEMO activates a player specific function to enter the settings menu of the player.

I suspected this but needed you to test it to verify it.

DJ_Promille wrote:Test #4: Points 1 - 3 are working like you described, but 4 (switching the columns) is still not working.

OK, I will have have to re-examine the code and see how it can be worked out for this particular function.

DJ_Promille wrote:For the REVERSE button I think so too - it is probably fixed to the hardware.

To verify this, I will remove the code for MIDI command REVERSE.
Then if it still works, it means that it is a hardware function.

I will look at the code and post the next version within a day.
Thanks for the feedback.

OK

I deleted all the code for the REVERSE command. If when you press this button you are still getting the reverse function then that was a hardware function.

One more attempt on the LED above "EXIT" before I try a different approach.
This LED should be OFF until you press "MEMO" to enter the Sampler mode. It should turn ON until such time that you go back to Locator mode.

I modified the code for
Change Primary Browsable (column browsing) to work with the Back button.

Right now
BACK = Perform Primary Action On Active Browsable
Shift+ BACK = Change Active Browsable

Give a try and let me know
