relocation files

Hi!

Is there some kind of good way to relocate missing files?
i changed from PC to Mac and before that i had collection on splitted disc.. now, with Mac my music files are located on external USB 3.0 HDD. i was able to restore collection, but all files are missing..
1 by 1 relocation takes much time.. 20 000 songs..

Menu. Resolve missing tracks. Or select all and resolve missing.

Next select 1. It will be followed by question if Cross should check others. Depending on type of changes in folder structure you'll have to repeat a few times.

It would be wonderful, but it lets You select only one file at the time...
If You choose more then 1, "relocate" button is not selectable...

Tried with PC Cross 3.2.0.
And Mac Cross 3.2.1.

In the popup screen you should select only one at a time. After pointing to its new location you'll be asked if all others should be checked ad well

yes, it will prompt, but when i choose "Yes" it says "No Additional Track Were Found", witch is not true... so, what next?

It checks for a similar change in drive/folder structure only.

Don't forget to have a backup of your collection as you are doing a big change.

So far i have to play with PC, as 20000 songs is too much for manual change
I have some folders by years made.. Maybe it's confuses relocation, but it should search songs at least from selected folder, i think...
Basicly i need only root change..

There might be something more involved when exchanging between mac and PC that I don't know.

What I can think of is trying to change the collection at the PC using the external disk. Only after this copy the collection to mac and see what happens.

So at PC set drive for new hdd to same as mac.
Rename root folder(s) of old PC tracks.
Resolve missing to new hdd.
Copy collection.

Might be worth the try..

if i copy my collection to external HDD, i still need to relocate all files so, it's no good..
BTW, if i copy my songs to external in PC, next time i restart my computer, drive letter might have been changed and here we are again with same problem...
i need location renaming... nothing else works...
how to do that
