Re: DDJ SZ Jog Wheel Issues

I forgot to mention that there are other tricks that can be applied.

For example
On the DDJ-SZ the LOAD PREPARE and BACK button have LEDs. They can be use to produce other indicators like
FX Mode
BACK= Audio
LOAD= Viceo
BACK+LOAD=Audio+Video

Also all the new functions for effects and oscillator can be used in shifted Mode to execute other operations.

Hey Fig,

Sorry for the wait.

Here's a few things I have issues with:

The dial marker still doesn't work correctly. I have gone into the Utilities Mode and adjusted the Intervals. From 4 to 5 to 6...Seeing no change...I maxed it 13ms. Left at 13ms.

Still. No Dice.

I checked on the tempo slider mapping and yes it was MIDI correctly...So I decided to re-midi...in hopes the problem I was having corrected itself. It did. But now the tempo slider is reversed. Slider up is + and Slider down is - . I tried to invert it. It goes back to the same problem as I was having before. The random slight changes in tempo control. I have unassigned the invert and using as is.

I removed the filter mapping. As the SZ has its own filters on board.

I would have changed the Looping as well...But I have no idea how to half time or double time without holding shift and cycling through.

If you would like me to make a video showing the problems. Let me know and I'll be happy to do so.

Thanks Fig. Hope you're well. :)

Please go ahead and post the video and also your modified mapping. With that information I can take another crack at it. I rely on your feedback and any additional information as not having the unit it prevents me from testing.

Edit. I think the tempo slider problem lies on the 14 bit MIDI table. Having your modified map and my map will help me verify and fix the problem.

I forgot to mention that you should try both versions of the posted map to se if the problem with the TEMPO fader shows up on both.

The 14 bit MIDI tables for the 2 maps are different so if it works on one but not the other or if the problem is on both it will give me an indication of what is causing the problem.

DDJ-SZ(Pioneer).mappings
Another MIDI Mapping for the DDJ-SZ which works fine using the FX buttons and knobs but also the titler function.

Not an official mix vibes mapping but another useful one.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Kind regards,

With the Firmrware 1.18 ---> its'ok
2. When pressing pause then back to play, Dial marker does not resume rotation.

3. When using Cue, Dial marker does not rotate when held down.

4. When using Hot Cue, Dial marker does not resume rotation.

Ok, so ...
With and only with Cross, not from DDJ-SZ.
there is a problem of understanding between the OUT values for the Pause and the Cue. The latest Firmware Pioneer corrected, among others, the problem for Traktor and Virtual DJ, only, does not include Cross ....

The Led of the jogwheel stops when pressing Play / Pause = Pause and Play, and when you press on the Hotcues.
No solution yet.

Diag jogwheel behavior is the same as Virtual DJ.

I think there is a solution in a few days. ;)
