This is completely wrong. The SL1 is a USB sound card. Yes, you can use the SL1 box with Mixvibes. But the ASIO / Core Audio drivers for the Rane hardware aren't as good as the driver Serato uses, and you won't be happy with the latency.

Uncle V was right ...when serato & rane sl1 came out 10 years ago it was more like a USB modem / audio device with not drivers
It wasn't until then ableton serato bridge came out that the asio and core audio drivers was put into serato scratch live about 5 years ago
More because ableton needed the drivers for the bridge not because serato needed the drivers to run..

The sl1 works ....but the sl1 is 16 bit .usb 1.1..that's why the latency is not good ..,..not because the asio / core audio drivers suck
I.m running the rane sl2 with Cross ...the sl2 is 24 bit , USB 2.0
My latency is 2.2 m,s ..,..96 sample rate with the same asio / core audio driver ....scratch and vinyl control is nice and tight with no audio drop-outs and no drifted

16 bit USB 1.1 by design has sufficient bandwidth for 4in/4out audio (e.g. running my ancient VAI-40 at 1.1ms(49) @44.1. using W8.1.) Cross is the only program I have capable of using this low value (others are non-dj-audio).

Low bandwidth is only possible if all the digital steps (like wazza mentioned) are fine tuned for low latency, including the used parts in the hardware.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.
FAQ iOS / Android / PC / MAC http://www.mixvibes.com/help/
Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

For the price you're still better off using the value of the SL1 to get another audio interface, or to get a mixer with a USB sound card. USB 1.1 SHOULD be fast enough to do whatever you want with it. Uncompressed stereo 16 bit 44.1 audio is only 1.5 Mbps, and USB 1.1 should be able to support up to 12 Mbps. The RoJeC is right, there's no reason better latency shouldn't be possible on an SL1.The problem, in my experience, has been the drivers. After all, an SL1 is perfectly fine with very low latency when used with SSL, right?
