Use one hard drive with Rekordbox and Mixvibes 3.0

I am new to mixvibes as i just left Serato after 8 years. What i would like to accomplish is keep to keep one setup, which consists of a Pioneer DJM 2000 Nexus mixer and two CDJ 2000 Nexus players (for larger events). I want to to continue to use this setup with Rekordbox and an external hard drive. I also have a Pioneer DDJ-SX (for smaller gigs) and want to use the same external hard drive with Mixvibes 3.0 Cross. I watched the tutorial video on how to sync the hard drive together with Rekordbox and Cross, but am having difficulty with Cross DJ Seeing the tracks. According to a Email I sent Mixvibes they told me that Rekordbox and Cross 3.0 will SYNC both ways. I cant seem to do it.

What i have done so far was:

1- All the tracks on the external "Rekordbox Drive" were added and analyzed into Rekordbox and they work (all key information, BPM and Etc were visible).
2-Loaded the MIDI Map file for the DDJ-SX into Mixvibes and selected the DDJ-SX as the sound card.
3-Added all the tracks that are on the external "Rekordbox Drive" into the Mixvibes Cross program.
4- Mixvibes shows the all tracks (once added) but they show up as not analyzed. SO right now Mixvibes in analyzing 43,000 tracks again. Is this supposed to happen even though they were already done in Rekordbox?
5- how do i get the "Rekordbox" Playlists to show up in Cross?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

some strange situation regarding the email. Cross syncs to recordbox. sync recotdbox to Cross is not automatically/possible.

I am going by what Nicholas told me. Either way i still can not get my Rekordbox to sync up with Cross?any suggestions.... I followed the tutorial and i cant sync it

DJ Nexus 2000 the sync is only one way, from Cross to RekordBox. I have the same set up and I'm, not sure why you'd want to sync RekordBox to Cross.
My workflow is to set up everything in Cross; Cues, Loops etc then sync/export to rekordBox so I can tranfer the playlist to a usb drive to take to a gig.
There is a work around if you want to transfer exsisting RekordBox playlist but it won't allow you to transfer any settings such as saved cue points etc it will only allow to import the tracklist. You can set up a play list in iTunes then drag the tracks from RekordBox in to that iTunes folder. Then you import the iTunes playlist in to Cross.

Obviously you make changes while playing out on CDJs and, if you are like me, don't have time to write down what you changed. So, after the gig, all the new info is lost.

Being able to sync back the changes would make a lot of sense imho.

i've just imported a Rekordbox playlist by doing a drag n drop in to Cross but it only brings the tracks over

The export to recordbox is a first step implemented. The ability to import has more than technical issues. Time will tell if it can and will be implemented.

Time to revamp an old issue I have with the industry. Where I can see companies want to protect their investment and secrets when it comes to how they beatgrid, how they key detect, etx., the OUTCOME of some of these things like BPM, KEY and such and all the stuff users add themselves, cue points, loop points, drop points really should BELONG to the track, not the DJ software.

It wouldn't be too hard to come up with a set of DJ-specific ID3-tags like cue 1 thru 8, loop in/out 1-4, drop point and such. That way every company could do whatever they like however they like, but they would have to write the tag info to the tracks too.

That way, if you have your collection done and you take tracks with you, all that the new platform needs to do is read the tags and stick them in their own database. When closing the program (or removing the USB stick from a player) the changes made in that session get written back to the track tags again.

Frankly, I feel we are being held hostage by the various software manufacturers. WE do a lot of work getting our collection set up, but due to not wanting to redo it all, we are pretty much sentenced to using that software forever.

I applaud Cross for at least making it easy to move your prepped sets to RekordBox so going out to play with the current club standard is easy. Still, if I were to move to some other software (and let's face it, we choose our software based on how well it matches our workflow and any particular features it might have) then we are up the proverbial sh*t creek and have to start from scratch or use very unwieldy (often command line based) conversion tools.

I would really like to see an industry effort to come to a standard. At the end of the day I think making it easier to switch for DJs will actually benefit all parties, including DJ Software manufacturers.
