In MIDI preferences, does the S4 tab turn to green when you push a button on the controller?

First, please stop being unkind.
This is a support forum, not a "shoot'em up" place.

Second, let's be constructive. Concerning your issues:
- Crap latency, this only depends on your config/computer...
Which computer? Which soundcard? Which audio settings (buffer size, samplerate)?

- Crashes, give us more info about what you were doing when it happened (if you remember). If you are on mac, some crash reports should be available in the Console, send them to me. Without more info, we can't answer more... sorry.

macbook air 1.8 intel core i7, 4gb ram
controller and soundcard native instruments s4
audio settings: 44100, buffer 512

hopefully its my fault!! cause as i told before...nice to work with it

thank you and sorry again

Do you mean the felt "latency" changed during the session?

512 samples is a bit high for tight control. Judging from you mac specs, you can probably go down to 256 (default value in Cross) or even 128.

I don't remember how the S4 behaves. This kind of issue is very often due to the controller itself not respecting MIDI standards. If we can grab a S4 here, we'll check and fix the mapping if necessary.

Has anybody else ever used a S4 with Cross over there?

Last thing, about your crash(es), could you please send me the crash log(s) OSX should have stored in the Console app?

Many thanx.
