I'm sorry Mutant, but you are really getting beat up here, and not intentionally.

What started as a friendly discussion somehow turned into banter.

The value you seek
-There is a higher level of HID integration than any other DJ software on the market with the Pioneer range of CDJ's.
-Rekordbox integration is spot on, meaning don't have to buy a separate software to take trakor/serato to rekordbox
-Customer support, fixes, bugs, updates, and improvements all happen here quicker than anywhere I've seen (I have ran Traktor since Traktor 3, Torq, Ableton,VDJ for a spell, and tried nearly all the others)
-Updates, as far as I've know, have always been free.
-Cross had an iPad/iPhone remote for Cross way before anyone else, without using PD/TouchOSC/Lemur apps. Native remote apps.

I get that it's not the issue of the money, per say, but the fact that you don't want to step into a pinto, that is nearly the same as other pintos, that costs what a cadillac does just to have HID painted on the side of it. I completely understand that it would seem odd to bundle the "only upgrades" between CrossDJ and Cross is "club mobility" of the software, but that's exactly what has been done. And I believe for good reason.

There is a lot more to HID than just it's protocol, it's not MIDI. However, I do understand that it's hard to say that two "simple" changes are worth the extra dough. In that case, as I said earlier, take a dip into CrossDJ, and see how it works out for your gridding/rekordbox stuff, and then see if you want to get the spinner rims later.

At worst, it's still cheaper than any other solution that has what you are looking for, and at best, you will be here on the daily waiting for the next amazing thing that they have added to an already exceptional experience.

And in defense to this. Not a jab, but a fact.
Mutant Beach Party wrote:but that doesn't change the fact that nobody else on the planet is charging $50 for HID

You can get an SL1 box on ebay for Serato for $280 to use your CDJ's in HID mode, or pay $2299 for a DJM-900SRT to run serato with CDJ's in HID mode. You CAN NOT run HID in serato without their box/card, So yeah, there are more expensive HID options out there. And you can download the latest version of their software for free, if you like 1 deck'ing it.

Oh man, you are my hero. You make me feel a lot better about pulling this particular trigger. Thanks. I thought about Serato after I said that, but that's just a different kind of fish there. I always wanted to use it. If nothing else, frankly I like the sort of form-follows-function look they've gone with. All these other softwares are always trying to look a bit 3 dimensional with buttons and knobs and things, and I get why, but I like high contrast better. Whatever, I have no desire to buy a Rane mixer or have an external soundcard. Seems like Cross might be just the thing. Sincerest thanks.

Glad it helped, and can't wait till your up and running.

Now, here's the key. Impressed or not with Cross in any form, which I'm about 99% sure you will be, post your feedback on these forums. If there is an improvement that gets posted in the suggestions forum that really takes off, or is an easy fix, it will usually be within two or three minor revisions. I won't spoil the rest for you, but you'll see
