Mac cdj set up with Cross or Cross DJ

I'm a little confused

I have Cross DJ that I use at home with a controller but if I go to a club with a set of modern cdj's there can I plug them into my MacBook Air by USB and hit the link and play away

Or do I need Cross to be able to do that

I don't want to get into buying a USB card and playing with time ode cd's/vinyl

If anyone has a mac and a set of cdj's let me know how u guys have set it up I was using serato but I wanted to get away from sound cards so that's why I'm trying up get into mixvibes

I've played a few gigs with my MBP and a pair of CDJ 2000. To get HID function you do need Cross as CrossDJ only supports MIDI.
there is a how to in the support forum but you need to register your CrossDJ to post there

So if I get Cross I can use them via HID is that without the time code CDs

Yes that is correct all Pioneer CDJ with USB connection 350, 400, 850, 900, 2000 and nexus will work in HID mode so no need for timecode.
And with HID you will get some of the info about tracks displayed on the CDJ screen

you will need to aggregate them to use their sound card so the setup process is the same as with Traktor

Welcome to mixvibes forums....You need Cross not Cross DJ ......Cross DJ only do MIDI....Cross will do MIDI , HID and time code vinyl/ C.D,s

Please register your Cross DJ software for fill support, free updates and a cheaper
Upgrade price to Cross so you can use HID on your CDJ 2000,s

As advised here, I bought the upgrade (Cross). But when I install on my macbook, the following message appears: "Cross" can not be opened. Should you eject the disk image .... how do I solve?
