Preventing double entries in playlists

Postby discopex on 01 Jul 2013, 11:52

It would be nice if CrossDJ would be clever enough to tell me whenever I'm adding already existing songs to playlists - If I recall iTunes does this. Small but handy feature.

This shouldn't be too difficult as RekordBox prevents double entries. I dropped the same in to the collection twice by mistake luckily I was able to remove by date added

Please stop comparing Cross to rekordbox, this ain't a MixVibes product, it belongs to Pioneer. Moreover, any feature is difficult to add, otherwise we would all make our own DJ software.
Thanx.

You can't have twice the same track in your collection.

You can....before resolving missing tracks.

You can't, "same track" means "same path".

As the original post refers to "playlists" I say +1
I often accidentally add a track twice to a playlist forgetting that I had already added it.

Why shouldn't I compare the the two when they're made by the same company. It shouldn't matter that one was created for a 3rd party. Also, are you saying that a track with the same file path can't be added twice? I know from experience that it can as I did it in 2.5. The post askk for suggestion we give them and you want to shoot us down for it.

Hi,

I'm not shooting you down, sorry if I misexpressed myself.

You can have twice the same track in a playlist, but not in the music node. That's what I meant.

But, it's useless to compare Cross to rekordbox as:
- they are quite different kind of apps.
- they belongs to different companies.

Moreover, you do not now how adding a feature is difficult or not.
We love getting suggestions (and please keep on!), but please let us decide what/when/how we do it. We might be adding what you want in the future (i.e. mean preventing duplicates in playlists) but I can't promise you.

Best,
SylMV
