better FXs

one of the things that really don't like about Cross DJ are effects. are too basic.

if you list all available controllers out there, you can see that all have 3 knobs and 3 buttons for just 1 FX. Traktor and Serato works like that, and with that you can control/fine tune the behavior of FXs.

a really missing feature!

Hi,

I completely agree.... The effects r not to perfection even whwn adjusted finely. I have spent hours on the effects, patiently trying them out with fine adjustments. Not good enough for pro levels in fine tuned effects. Sorry but thats the honest truth.

There is an EFFECT called GATES in Traktor which is amazing to use. You can keep the effect ON and not press PLAY & just simply turn the JOG wheel & it makes perfect SCRATCH RHYTHMS. . . like pro scratching. check it out. A suggestion to Cross DJ.

+1,
I would like to see the grouping of three effects like in traktor, 3x wet and dry knobs controllable, but would be nice if you could also go into the other parameters/bi dimensional effects too before hand then save and name option and have a MIDI controllable menu like with sample banks in Cross, and each save recalls the overall preset exactly in the state you saved this group, but each 3 wet/dry run to a master wet/dry controlling all.

I do not use video at present so in my experience I only refer to mixing audio

Just to elaborate on another idea I have had in mind, if you assign the left and right side effects to master, they don't go straight to master the pass through a Cross fader, (okay you don't have to see this graphically, but you can still double up your main Cross fader to control it, or any other fader or pot), in conjunction with the presets saving above I mention, you would be able to get some wicked combinations blends going, especially for beat effects.

Although this could be improved on with the routing,, maybe you could crossfade/flip the left with right as individual sides routed to the deck destination , although you may have to incorporate a volume or simple filter fade without res to get the effects biting/kicking in and not clashing, not to sure on this off the top of my head, would take some drawing work to suss it out, its only a thought this latter part, but based on when I used to set up my own effects in ableton for djing, I used to experiment with these merges and blends of effects filtering one deck out as the effects cut in etc while the filter in the other deck would work as opposite, quite a lot to think about, ,but Iam sure with some hard work, similar ideas could evolve in Cross, its all about being able to blending /crossfading and routing the effects in ways other DJ software cannot, this flexibility is what I miss in ableton.only food for thought Dev team, but being very creative without getting bogged down by too many parameters, its all about presets, routing and the blending, being able to to cut between different effects, with simple wet/drys and a few routing options again via simple menu, all on the fly no second thought no messing about, all this effect parameter malarkey is so awkward in other software when it could be simplified yet far more effective innovation.

I first started with a software years ago called TORQ from M AUDIO. Its ideas were very good in effects and neat too. They screwed up by not bringing out a better sound card & video....even after Avid taking over. They were the first to sync with Ableton live on the same page as well. My point is that they came out with effects that came ON when u moved the crossfader from A to B track. Cool uh!
