I was lucky enough to be part of the pulselocker beta, not like it was anything exclusive. One thing that I noticed is how detailed their waveforms were on the preview player. If you could make the waveforms 1/2 as detailed as they are, and add some kind of color scheme to differentiate bass, mids, highs, you will easily blow all the others out of the water.
