i was using windows 8.1 preview for the last 3 days
at first it felt faster with using dx 11.2
but then it started locking up cause of driver probs
so stay away from windows 8.1 for now .
things i liked it seems that this is the windows they should have had things or easier to get to and seems to use less hard drive space

Was considering the upgrade from Windows 7 - think I'll wait a while now. Thanks for the useful information.  Summer is here! I installed win7 on my MSI for fun, but went back to win8 in only a day...
yes 8.1 windows 8 works great
