Left side turntable cutting left speaker (Cross Pack)

Postby amatuermixa on 30 Apr 2013, 00:31

Been happening for the last couple of weeks - at random the left side turntable cuts the left speaker out. So I'll be playing then suddenly the left speaker will cut out with only the right playing, sometimes sound returns to the left speaker sometimes it doesn't. It only happens using the Cross Pack, never when using vinyl.

It also cuts out the left side of the headphones when cueing as well so I'm almost certain the problem lies in the U-Mix external soundcard. Any help here would be great as I'm clueless as to how it might have started!

No help with this issue? I'm not sure who I'm supposed to contact about this for support outside of the forums...

  do not use the U-Mix 44 sc ,and time code signal;; still lacking info as to what you have tried to remedy this ,, have you checked cabling to see if this follows the left cable ,, how is your time code signal when this occures,, have you checked the connections on your turntable cartiges ,, give more info

thanks for the reply, I'm using a U46 mk2.

I've swapped out the RCAs and there has been no change, as well as my carts, also reinstalled Cross & timecodes stay at 99% and don't really change out of the usual when it occurs. I've been playing vinyl with the setup all week and had no problems at all.

still experiencing the issue, driving me absolutely mad - mixing isn't too much of a problem as I don't hear the loss of one speaker while I'm Djing, but it makes recording or playing around people an impossibility.

sorry its taken so long to reply I've only just seen your response. If I put it into flexible mode & shut down the turntable there is still no sound from the left speaker. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the U-Mix soundcard, but I've no idea what can be done to fix it. I'm getting by with vinyl & my MIDI controller but it would be really great to get this DVS set sorted considering I've hardly used it since I got the set >.<

Ok so your soundcard might have an issue on the inputs.

thats been my thinking, what should I do about this? I could probably find a way to contact the store I bought it from but I doubt they'd be willing to replace it.
