I'm currently considering whether to take the plunge and buy a Windows 8 Pro (not RT) tablet to replace my current laptop.
Has anyone tried any of the Cross family on a Windows 8 Pro tablet, and if so, how does it run?
Also, would Cross be capable of running on one of the lower spec Atom tablets with their 2GB RAM limitation - how do they compare with the Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz P8600 and 4GB RAM I've currently got in my Asus N20a?

Seriously considering Surface PRO myself too. It should run CrossDJ very smoothly, the only possible issue I can think of is that it only has USB 3.0 port which may not be compatible with every soundcard (then again, a USB 2.0 hub would probably be an easy fix). The Atom series processors are pretty much on the weak side, you can get the idea by comparing these benchmark stats http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

Thanks for the reply Found a video on YouTube of a guy mucking about with Virtual DJ on an Acer W510, which is an Atom-powered Windows 8 tablet with 2GB RAM and it seems to be up to the task - I've always found Cross to be pretty easy on resources, so I'm intrigued. I'd go for the Acer W700 if it wasn't limited to a 64GB eMMC (can't get the 128GB anywhere for a decent price in the UK!) with no SD/Micro SD support, but something like the Asus Vivo Tab has a Micro SD slot, despite having an Atom CPU rather than an i3/i5. Think I need to do a bit more digging - wonder if anywhere will let me install Cross on a tablet in store?!

Kinda surprised that an Atom could handle CrossDJ since the recommended/minimum system requirements are far more demanding. BUT I guess developers exaggerate the requirements so they are future proof for more cpu-hungry features. I noticed that my older laptop (Core 2 Duo) is more sluggish and the analysis is slower than my current i3-processor laptop.

We are running some test. The only current limitation seems multitouch support. Besides that, everything seems ok (tested with internal soundcard + MIDI/hid).
That's cool... It works the same way as on Windows 7 with a touchscren... This improvement was clearly not a priority on the to do list... I don't doubt that multipoint touch will come one day in one update if there is a real need/prescription/DJ use for it.

Bit of an update here - I decided to take the plunge and bought an Acer W510 as I like the idea of a convertible tablet/laptop style machine that I can use for work and play (it won't be my main DJ machine btw).
Just tried Cross 2.4.0 on it and it'll run 2 decks for mixing - you get some glitches if you're hammering cue or the jog wheel whilst cueing up on the U-Mix Control Pro on the non-playing deck, but considering the spec it runs OK.
Can't power the U-Mix off the micro-USB on the tablet though (with an OTG cable), it needs the full size USB port or AC power by the looks of it.
Going to have a play around and will report back once I've done some more with it!
