well actually it depends on how many ram slots your laptop has so mine has 2 slots and i have seen 8gb ddr2 200 pin ram modules but they are very expensive.

but i think for now 8 gb of ram would be enough!

Ok.... let's just clear this up now... ;)

Bit - 0/1

Nybble (Nyble) - 4 bits

Byte - 8 bits/2 nybbles - Also called an 'octet' since 'technically' parity bits can come into play and muddy the waters up. ;)

Word - 16 bits/2 bytes (on PC Intel Architecture anyway ;) )

kilobyte - 1,000 bytes - 10^3 - (ok, in marketing speak it's 1000, it's actually 1024 because of the binary nature of computers, but let's keep it 'marketing speak' for the purposes of this demonstration)

Megabyte - 1,000,000 bytes (Million) - 10^6 - 1000 Kilobytes

Gigabyte - 1,000,000,000 bytes (Billion) - 10^9 - 1000 Megabytes

Terabyte - 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (Trillion) - 10^12 - 1000 Gigabytes

Petabyte - 1,000,000,000,000 bytes - (Quadrillion)- 10^15

Exabyte - 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes - (Quintillion) - 10^18 - 1 billion gigabytes

Zettabyte - 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes - (Sextillion) - 10^21 - 1000 Exabytes

Yottabyte - 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes - (Septillion) - 10^24 - 1000 Zettabytes

Does it show that I used to teach A+ Computer Tech certification and other computer classes? :D
