Guys,

don't think this is easy, pressing a button and give it a quick go. removing noise is science! Try different settings.

Experience: just because audacity is freeware this does not mean that their noise filter is bullshit or not even worse than the one from "real DAW". You can do a lot with audacity, it is just not as comfortable as you want.

It's free for a reason. It's expected to have worse algorithms than professional DAWs and it's absolutely logical to have worse noise removal than a vst that was specifically designed for this purpose.

Noone underestimated audacity, but it's not a professional uqality software.. it's just excelent for freeware.

Anyone that's playing music has a nice DAW installed on his PC, so why not use something more effective that's already installed?

I think I'm the exception, not every DJ is a Producer

You're right stating that DAWs often have better Vsts, maybe they have got better algorithms (I doubt it) but for almost everything regarding recordings audacity is completely sufficient from my point of view. What can't be done with it?

Yo Guys,

What´s a DAW exactly, i play music on my laptop and the only programs i use are ASIO & MV. Am i doing something wrong then ?

Regarding the noise removal it works now, it however has a hard time removing static from the raw beat parts. So not yet completely satisfied with the result but i guess i will have to play with the settings.

PS: i guess it's not good for the quality to remove the static more then once, correct ?

THANKS !

Same for me and no, you're not missing something

From my experience it is hard and often not worth the effort, but nevertheless try as hard as you can. Don't be disappointed it the settings vary from record to record ;)

Pointless due to the fact that you try to kill frequencies twice

  am i missing something ,,vinals have inherrent noise in them ,its no way to remove all the noise and static ,, inherrent to the media ,, only way is to get a hold of the studio mastered copy, have that digitised,,then you will have the type of quality that you might be looking for ,,would be hard to do ,,, :frown: my suggestion is to get the best outcome with what you have ,,and try to replace your vinal with all ready repoduced copys,,
