Connect the U46 to your laptop, open Audacity, go to the audio preferences and set the input to 'U46 channel 1/2' (or comparable). Connect one of your turntables to input 1/2 and record.
Yo blackbrook, Thanks it's working, i needed a way to set the volume right and adjust the bass a bit. So i've putten my mixer between the table and U46MK2, i asume this isn't a problem for the quality of ripping. Correct me if i'm wrong ? I'm a bit surprised on how well it already captures the warmth of the vinyl, much better then my former method :-). Now al i need is a good program to remove the static. Any tips ? PS where do i need to put the earth on the mixer/U46 ? Had tried the mixer and that sounded ok. Big thanks all off u guys, where would we be without a forum :-) Grtz Hayco

Connect the ground to the U46, this maybe removes some static. If there is still something left (I bet it is) audacity offers an "effect": Noise removal. I have never tested it as I was quite happt with the original recordings. Test it and get back if you have got any other questions. Anyway: good luck!

I use audacity for noise removalm, here are some settings that could work. Forst of all, in the recording select a part that only has noise, and in the Noise removal window, click: "Create Noise Profile" Than press Ctrl+A to select all, and open Noise Filter again, then set these up: reduction: 30 sensitivity: 0 smoothing: 600 attack/ decay: 0.00 This removes eveything complitely, without distorting the sound. It is just awsome.

Why don't you use a major DAW software like cubase or ableton? i bet their algorithms are far better than the ones of audacity.

No noise filtering in Ableton. I was looking for it, but I just can't find one, not even a VST.

Hi Tried the settings but they don't have the right result, volume weakens extremely ( wave shrink 50%). Also tried less DB because this was the mean reason for the lower volume, this however doesn't remove the static the way i hoped (tried 2 vinyls). One of them is a bit of an oldie from 1993 which was remastered ( by EBONY CUTZ) IN 2011 terrence parker & Claude young Play EP Aren't there any static removers which don't impact the wave so much :-( Grtz

Maybe you didn't do the "Noise profile" thing, or didn't do it the right way.
