Macro Effects - Is it possible?

Postby Alexkidd on 14 Dec 2012, 12:56

I don't really know if this has been asked for before, but wouldn't it be great if we could assing multiple effects (3 or more effects) in one super-knob?

I don't know what assing and superknobs have to do with one another but I'd LOVE to see Macros. :)

Wow unexpectedly, there's interest.
I hope it comes sooner than next year. I don't consider it that difficult, but what do i know anyway.
Btw, could this be done with third party software? (something like MIDI katapult or so?)

As long as it handles more than 2 parameters it's a superknob for me!

Based on what I saw in the short video, yes, I think katapult 'might' be able to do it, but then again it might be limited to working through Masx and Ableton.

Torq has a feature called 'snapshots' which would recall values with a button press and then if you pressed it again, it would return to the previous values. All in all, a really slick feature and really let you leverage effects in really unique and fun ways.

But it's a feature that not a lot of people really used. Admittedly, I had torq for more than 6 years and still didn't use it that much.

Macros to cause a string of things to happen would be nice but you'd almost have to develop a scripting language for that...

Or you could use Bome's to do a lot of it (firing off multiple things/changing parameters with a single keypress/MIDI note). The scripting in that is rather feature rich... but not easy for the average person to pull off.
