Importing directories

Postby kelv.1 on 12 Nov 2012, 00:12

Can any one help. i have not had this problem in the past. When i import a cd into iTunes all the track info is displayed i.e. name, artist, album, year, genre. When i click on import directory in mixvibes and select the iTunes folder it only imports the track name but also adds track number before the name. I have just added 150 tunes to iTunes, i now have a list in mixvibe all the albums mixed up? Why is this happening now and never before?
Please help, regards kelvin

Hi kelv.1

maybe the files you want to import are not tagged correctly.
Try to load them into some other software like "mp3tag".
Does it display the right infos?

well ive double checked iTunes and all 11 cds are tagged correctly they just wont import to shitty mixvibes, only the track name is imported and it adds track number before the track name. i now have 300 tracks of various genre in my mix vibes 11 track 1..... then 11 track 2......
i am pissed right off with it to be honest. ive tried creating a new collection and reimporting iTunes library, all the new stuff ive added wont import correctly

Writing "shitty MixVibes" won't give you any solution at all...
Please remain a lil' bit polite. Thanx.

iTunes doesn't necessarily update tracks' tags correctly.
Why don't you use the iTunes pane of the CrossDJ collection?
It directly reads the iTunes database, and should then display the fields you can see in iTunes even if iTunes doesn't write them in the tags.

If BPM values are stored in iTunes, Cross reads them.
Double check you've correctly set the BPM in your tracks...

Moreover, if you import in Cross the directory where the iTunes tracks are stored, you'll have the info of the tags.
Double check you're importing the right directory...

Cheers,

Marxon "gave" you the proper way , and probably the solution, to check your id3tags.
