It's all going 'Star Trek'!!! I'm a 'mouse man' and will always be - I can hardly use my touch screen phone!

To me - my mouse is like an extension of my hand - completely natural... anything else doesn't work for me.

I stick with Win7 either! There is no need for switching to Win8 at the moment. This might change after Service Pack 1 when the Metro style can be switched off

I'm glad that someone else doesn't like the Metro style. To be it looks like a kiddies V-Tech system! I know that they are trying to make computers easier to use, but this time I think they've gone too far. It's absolutely obvious that they've aimed Windows 8 towards the touchscreen market, which is not for me! I'm going to keep watching however, and if in the near future there are ways to bring Win 8 back to being more like a traditional system I might try it - until then I'm sticking with dependable, reliable Windows 7. (7 looks good too - which is important when you're staring at a screen for hours and hours! )

In addition to that you become a consumer only. You are restricted to the stuff in the MS Store (as far as I know). To me this is a no go! I still hope for a linux version of Cross, I don't give up hope ;D

NOOO! I am NEVER going to upgrade if that's the case! I have apps on my iPod touch and my Android phone - don't want them on my laptop too! Ohhh A complete Linux Distribution dedicated purely to Cross would be a dream come true!

It's strange actually as this is the only place where I've read negative views of Windows 8. I'm very interested in the faster start-up times and the apparent better performance, especially when I own a budget laptop and I'm having problems with Cross!
I read a review that said although it is aimed at touch screen devices, the new Metro style works well with the mouse as well.
Not sure I want to be one of the first to take the plunge and test with Cross though!
