My Laptop Wont recognise the 46MK2

Can anyone help me? I have tried to use the Cross Pack through my laptop but it wont recognise the device, it plays through my friends laptop and my laptop recognises other USB devices. Really confused, any help would be great.

Which OS, CPU, which driver you installed.

Some more information are needed to help.
Pease also check if you are running the newest driver from the board.

OS - windows 7
Pentium(R) dual core CPU T4500 @2.30GHz (2 CPUs) ~ 2.3GHz
Cross Pack version 1.6.1

Hey,

which version of the OS? 32Bit or 64bit? this is driver relevant.

Please also check for the newest driver:
[PC] [WIN XP, VISTA, SEVEN] U46MK2 v3.0

And please also install the newest version which is currently 1.7.1
[PC] Cross 1.7.1 & release notes

And perform first the installation of the driver.
Extract the zip file,
Start the installation
wait for all instructions
perform the installation
plug in the device
wait for recognising.

WARNING: Please plug the device in after the installer is finishing and saying that you can now plug the device on the system, otherwise it will install WDM Drivers which are not compactible with Cross.

I've installed both those downloads and still nothing. Any other suggestions, or could i be doing something wrong?

If you installed both downlaods than the device should be recognised by the OS because the driver installer is waiting for the device to plug in otherwise you can't go to the next step.

Can you see the controll panel of the software and see the faders? are they changeable? if not the device is not installed correctly.

I can alter the faders on the software.

With the driver download it prompts me to plug in the device and turn it on but it says "determaning device(s) failed"

Okay than the device should be recognised correctly then you should be able to select in Cross "ASIO U46MK2".

if not please check also the device manager if you can see the device there correctly installed. Please check also the driver if the driver is WDM or the ASIO driver.
