Cant edit id3 tags

Hello,

Im trying to use Cross to edit my id3 tags. The manual states you can do this but when I try the changes do not carry over to the original track file even though write to tags is checked in the preferences box. I can edit the tags with another editor like media monkey so its not the files. Im running windows vista, Cross ver 1.7.1 in admin mode.

Is anyone else able to make this feature work?

P.S. I posted this same problem a few days ago and most people just suggested I use a separate tag editor which is not really a solution, so im reposting here in the hopes that a new post will get renewed attention.

Most people suggested to check with a separate tag editor than instead of the OS.

Well,
when i rate a new star ranking in Cross collection that doesn't change nothing in iTunes, but, in the opposite way it works really fine....
but any way, that's not a problem for me, i don't mix "stars", i just mix musik ....... : )

The only way for Cross to change something into iTunes, is that you re-scan for tags and any modification will be updated into the library.

Ok making progress now. Ive determined through a lot of testing that Cross does indeed write ratings data to the original tracks. However, the problem now appears to be that Cross is unable to read the data it has written or rather it misinterprets the data. If I give a track any star rating and then remove it from collection and then re add it to the collection that rating goes to 1 regardless of the original rating. Is this a known issue? If I need to elaborate on how I discovered this let me know. thanks for constructive assistance everyone.

OK, I'm going to close this thread now, as it getting kinda confusing with two threads open on similar lines.
