I'm impressed with those lights. The effect is really great - I'm going to have a search for some of those. I imagine that people would really like those at an event.
Just one question though - are they permanently on, or do they flash?

Depends on what you want to do with them. You can create everything with them. You can create a show with your DMX Controller and run different sets. At this party I had different shows where every led (8 devices) run randomly and fading between different colors. Here is a video from the vendor from the LEDs I bough and which are on the photo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4MQIqz-gDEregards Christian

[update] Got a great bargain today - 2 x 12" active speakers (250w rms - 500 max) plus heavy duty stands. These little speakers sound great on their own, but I've also ordered an active subwoofer to give my system that little bit of extra boom! Now I'm looking at my lighting rig - I can't believe how inexpensive it is to build up an impressive display! I remember when it cost a fortune, but now you can build a great light system for very little money. ps. I got in BIG trouble when I set my gear up in the kitchen tonight! I 'accidentally' pushed it too far and my wife said that she could feel the floor vibrating in the lounge, which is above! She has made me agree to go and apologize to the neighbors too! Ha Ha Ha!

Sounds nice! 250Wrms is a good power for 12" speakers Yes lightning products are getting cheaper and cheaper but I'm currently on a trip to buy not the cheapest things because two aspects. First the wear, most cheap products have problem with the LEDs (some of them are not working) or some movable parts are not as stable as they should. Second the functions are better and more at expensive models . Currently I'm looking for some ShowTec Indigo 4500 LED. They have a nice range of effects and colors and Gobos with special effects like Prisma and Gobo Rotate/shake and overley of gobos to create new gobos and the Power and noise is brilliant. And let us know or post some nice photos of your gear . Would be nice to see some new aspects what I can change or should to buy and so on. I also looking forwared to new products and other manufactures for the same products. regards Christian

Thanks Christian.
I'm currently looking for some compact lighting effects. In the past I've seen DJ's with quite small, yet very effective lighting systems. The main reason is that I want to be able to transport the whole system easily, and also set it up on my own. I cannot get anything to large or too heavy that would take two people to set up.
Also, I do want hard wearing equipment that will last for a long time, and be strong enough to withstand being moved around all the time.
I've been tempted by lots of good looking effects on Ebay, but as you say - it doesn't always work out buying the cheaper equipment. I know of two or three specialist stores in my city that sell better gear, and I'll also be able to see the units working.

Hey, for shure at ebay you can find many products for light but also bad quality for cheap prices. I prefere alwasy looking the device at the store or on youtube videos to see what quality it is and how the effect looks like. For basic lightning and also small and powerfull I prefere you to look at the Eurolite KLS-Series. You can get different configurations with different LED Power. I got a few weeks ago for a few weeks to test the Eurolite LED KLS1001RGB and this thing is ultra so powerfull! Maybee I will order them. regards Christian

Wow! That is so impressive, but I've checked the price and it's well above my budget! I did find this though, at a fraction of the cost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aJq6f0BEgM
