change drive(path) in windows 7

Postby joostenw on 24 Jan 2012, 20:45

I use Mixvibes Pro on a W7 Home Premium platform.
I stored my music on drive D:. Now I've a new notebook (also with W7 HP). The DVD player is allocated to D:. I've made an extra partition on this new notebook and I was forced to choose E: for this partition.

You already guess my problem, if I want to use MV Pro 7 on this new PC all my music (3500 MP3s) are directed by MV to to D: drive.

How to deal with this problem?

Hey,

at windows you can change your device path from both devices (if there is no program installed!

Go to the preferences -> computer management (I don't know how it is named in english because I have a german system) -> computer managment -> Disc managment -> go to the drive you want to change -> right click -> change device letter/path and name

I attached a picture where you can see how it looks.

regards
Christian

Sorry Christian, The DVD player is already setup as D: drive. With your option you don't have the opportunity to choose D:. One can only choose A thru Z, with C: and D: as exeption (because they are already allocated by the system.

Hey,

Yes but you can choose first for the DVD drive a new letter and after that you set the now free D for your drive.
