Hi guys, i took my turntables to a gig today and could not possibly play anything. The distortion was way too high. The gain analysis on my mixer (stanton sa3) was permanently in the red for both turntables. I tried everything switching around wires, changing wires, absolutely nothing worked. It was a good thing I had the timecode cds as I had to do with those for the night. But i do not know what is wrong with the timecode vinyl or the software. The cds and the cd players in the club sounded fine. But when used my turntables and the timecode vinyl it was disgusting.
There is nnothing wrong with the mixer it works fine with normal vinyl. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the timecode vinyl or maybe i have set up the software wrong... Please i beg for some help.

[/quote] So did you check what the TC-quality in Cross was with the TC-Vinyls? And did you check if it there were circles showing in the prefs? To me it sounds like a grounding or channel problem from the Turntables.

I grounded the turnies to the mixer. Should i ground the u46 mk2 as well? Where should i ground it to? The timecode quality does not look bad. The external power supply was not used. Should i get an external power source for the u46? I turned all the volumes down but nothing. Still sounds trashy.

Question, did you set the input to vinyl instead of cd?

Thank you all for your kind asssistance, problem solved.
it was the settings and the line out that were the problem. The u46 was going to the phono of the mixer when it should have gone to line.
