Re: Highlight on the U-Mix Control Pro!

I'm wondering how good integration between timecode and controller is and what opportunities it offers.

In the German Board j-kut told me (if I got everything right) that it's possible to use ONE turntable to scratch in new songs, then have it controlled by the U-Mix, scratch in the next song, switch that song over to U-Mix and so on...

This would be pretty interesting since I cannot imagine djing without a tt. I have never done it, but all videos I saw didn't make me believe I could be enjoying it as I don't just want to push some buttons  . Even if the output-sound would be exactly the same... I don't wanna start this discussion, but I believe I'll always want a decent tt to do the beatmatching, scratching and so on - I need it to go crazy, to get into the flow of the music. I'd be glad though if I only had to bring one tt and do the rest with the U-Mix.

Do you think this would be possible? I haven't understood how this could be archived workflow-wise... Need some input here.

Another question: What's the quality of the crossfader? I now own a Pioneer DJM 707 which has a non-contact fully adjustable optical fader... I guess it'll be hard to get used to a rather cheap (???) controller-fader. Is it possible to get replacement faders for the U-Mix?

Thank you for your help!

I have never tested this "sound swap" you and j-kut described and I do not know if it exists in Cross. But if you have watched the U-Mix Control VPro videos with Supahonik you can see that it is definitely possible to "go wild" with the U-Mix Control Pro and turntables. I am using the U-Mix Control Pro in timecode mode and it replaced my mixer. You can definitely use one deck controlled by timecodes and the other one by the U-Mix Control Pro - this is possible because you can (de-)activate timecode control for each deck.

Hi Steve

Thanks you for your reply.

Could you check this for me:

- Can you (de-)active timecode control while a song ist playing without sound interruption / speed change?

- Can you assing the same tt to both decks (not at the same time)?

Would be great!

*hopping in for Steve*

yeah, you can control both decks with one tt: no problem, no sound-cut.
There are 2 big buttons over each deck in the software ( A and B)
which choose the inputsource.
So you just swap back and forth as you like.
