Which is more stable? Windows 7 or XP?

Postby dj_decka on 23 Jun 2011, 16:06

Since the purchase of the new computer. I have discovered I am not a huge fan of Windows 7. I have been a long time XP user and very use to the XP layout.

My question is: Is Windows 7 a better -stable- platform for DVS then compared to XP? Or is XP a better way to go?

Any help would greatly appreciated!

Hey,

it depends of what hardware you have? RAM for example. When your information at the bottom are correct I would prefere you to use WIn 7 x64 otherwise your memory is not used efficiently.

Win 7 is working at my system very stable and I have currently no issues with DVS and Win7.

Both XP and Win7 have pro and contras for use but at your system configuration i5 and 4+2 GB = 6GB RAM I would personal use Win7.

regards
Christian

From what I know there is a XP like desktop theme in Win7. If you use it you might feel like using XP but having Win7 running ;)

I agree with Christian, Win7 would be my choice as XP in 32 Bit can only handle (adress) up to 3.2GB RAM.

Both are very stable if you keep the OS clean. I've used both (and Vista too)

XP is a very old OS. It was released in October 2001 so it is nearly 10 years old. The time will come soon when Microsoft will stop supporting XP. There are all sorts of rumours when this will be.

Personally I would go with Windows 7, it's the newest and the best IMHO ;)
