stress test with Cross DJ 1.5.5

Postby christiankoopmann on 10 Jun 2011, 17:17

Hey MixVibes and also to the cummunity,

Today I tested Cross DJ with a very bick collection and was surprised. It is faster in searching names in the database than DVS7.
I added over 76629 titles and the import takes round 1 hour. But now it is working very well.
I will do some more testings with manageing titles (everyday I got new promo CDs which I add to my database).

One big + for Cross is that it shows me directly which song is currently not on my hdd (marked red with a big yellow exclamation point) I love it. When I click on the yellow exclamation point I get an editor where I can search for the missing songs. This is the first application where I have the chance to search for missing songs.
Reverse of the medal I have minimal CPU usage when searching in the Database. The GUI freezes not when searching like other applications I tested.

The only point which irritated me is when I search the search list is everytime at the bottom of the list. I have to scroll up to get the songs I want. (I search mostly for the artists and they have often more than one title  ;) )

Some details to the tested system:
C2D 3GHz, 4GB RAM
U46Mk2 at 48kHz and 2,9ms latence
Cross DJ 1.5.5 at Windows Seven SP1 x64 (not audio optimised)
1TB HDD connected via eSATA

So keep the good work up and I will also test this with the new Cross version and write my feedback in the testarea. I hope this will help to keep the work up.

regards
Christian

One additional point:

Every M3U I have in my folders created a playlist in Cross. I have currently over 300 playlists for everything. I added in the past to every cd I imported a m3u to have a shortcut to all the songs on the "CD".
Looking for a playlist is neatly arranged and sorted to the name of the list. Switching is also fast (sometimes a little freeztime of the gui when switching big playlists but this I think is normal)

Christian
