Boc likes to throw in things to confuse us all
But it´s what i wanted to point you at as well.
Timecode and Midi-control from the same deck wont work unless your mapping is really good.
When you said nothing happens when you press the midi-button on your cd-deck, then there is no mapping.
Meaning, although your deck is sending midi-notes, Mixvibes cannot use them unless you map the midi-notes to an according function in mixvibes.
But everything that will interfere with the playback of the timecode-cd (play/pause/loop/cue etc) is not to be mapped as a midi-function, as you will end up with two inputs in Mixvibes for only one button.
E.G. actual play of the cd, but also play as a midi-function.
(=2xplay -> mess)
So you either can use Timecode or MIDI, but if you wanna use both at the same time, you really have to pay attention.
Edit: being not familiar with your cd-players, i recommend you to read the manual, and see if enabling midi-mode on them, disables the cd-functions of the buttons. then you could use both, but would have to switch from MIDI to actual cd-control and back every time.
