My mac book pro wont recognise the Control Pro Soundcard?

I have just purchased a U-Mix Control Pro DJ controller including Cross DJ software
Cross DJ 1.5.1 serial number xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

i currently use a new mac book pro purchased from Apple in april 2011

the unit seems to be fine as does the software
but i am experiencing a problem

i can not get the software (or my mac !!) to recognize or play any audio through the U-Mix sound card
the MIDI information is all fine, and i can control mp3 files with the Cross software
BUT audio will only play from my Apple mac headphone output

please advise where i might be able to find help with this

Sorry dude,

it´s a issue caused by the i-core cpu in your macbook.
Currently every audio-software is struggling with this issues as the handling of usb1.1 devices has been changed. (espacially Serato with the sl1 and ttm57sl, but any other company as well, unfortunately including Mixvibes)

you might wanna try an active usb2.0 hub between the mac and the U-Mix Control Pro.

If that dont work, you only can try on a different machine or wait for Apple to fix this issues.

Please don't write your serial number for your version of CrossDJ on a open public forum. I have edited the number so no one can use it to try and gain a copy

Regarding your issue with the website recognising your serial. There was a problem with the download server last week for new users.

This might have something to do with it. I don't know whether it's all sorted yet?

Serial problem now resolved

but very concerned about my new mac not recognising the soundcard at all, ive tried a few pieces of software, audio preferences etc

all MIDI info is fine (is that weird?) i can control mp3s no bother at all

what about powering the unit using a power supply?? is that not the same thing, is this a not enough power from usb type issue?? where do you get the supply from? mixvibes??

Hi,

na, the power supply wont help.
It´s an issue caused by macs/pcs with 2nd genertion i-cores in them.

The usb2.0 hub might trick the cpu into thinking the interface is usb2.0 as well, and therefor communicating with it differently.
e.g. those from Dr.Bott are really good, but you can try anyother as well.

ahhhh all sorted

the firmware update on the mixvibes website
seems to have fixed the soundcard issue

why couldnt i find it here more easily

maybe its just me being stooopid

and make a new sticky thread about the usb1.1 vs core iX issue too, cuz i bet that only a few users read the manual
(yes its another question that who would read the thread if they dont open the manual but its another option to indicate that it exists)
