ASIO mode not available on Mix Vibes 3D Software

Postby guillermusicona on 23 May 2011, 12:36

Hi,

I´ve tried in so many different ways but I cant get the ASIO mode to work on the Mix Vibes 3D Software.

I bought the USB control dock hardware, and then the Headphone plus USB soundcard pack, hoping I could use these two in combination (the sound card for one sound out, the normal computer internal card for the other sound out) to pre-listen to the mixes, but I cannot get the sound simultaneously to come out on both sound outs.

Both outs work, as I can choose to prioritise one or the other, and both work alternatively, but I cant do it simultaneously.

This, according to the instruction manual is done with the choice of the ASIO mode on the preferences menu, but this choice is gray and cannot be selected.

The headphones and usb card came with a different software, Mix vibes Home - this looks like a more advanced software, but the buttons etc. dont correspond to the USB hardware I bought, and being unconfigured, the sofware doesnt react if I plug it in.

Ideally, I just want to solve the ASIO problem to start with on the 3D Software.

Later on, if i can configure the whole thing to work on the Home software, that would be even better as it looks better than the 3D.

Any help much appreciated, thanks!

Hello,

I think that your solution is the use of ASIO4ALL (http://www.asio4all.com/). With this driver you can bundle both audio interfaces to "one virtual" which you can access in you software.

If you have trouble configuring just ask, we will help you!

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks very much Steve!

I´ll try once I get home with all the set up.

I´ve installed it - does it come on automatically when I run the Mix Vibes 3D software, or do I have to direct the program to it somehow?

Thanks,
Guillermo

it will appear as a sound device (just as the unselectable grey option you ve mentioned), then you can select the multiple soundcards for the outputs of monitoring/master

It should work easily, all you'll have to make sure is to Cross out (by clicking on it) the tool on the right hand bottom corner of the program, this will allow you to select several audio sources!

Thanks guys, that worked!

Phew, what a mission.

Now what is happening is that the settings sort of reconfigure whenever I close the program and open it again, so i have to keep reminding it what the settings are.

Even when i close and asks me, do you want to save? I say yep, then open that file again, and still the settings are off.

Hope there's a way of fixing this!

Also, does anyone else find the loudspeakers are getting damaged using the Mixvibes interface? The base starts grovelling, its pretty worrying.

I've tried to keep the levels sensible, but something's wrong.

Thanks,
Guille
