Hey Community and the Webadministrator, a few minutes ago I got the message that too many connections to your database hat crashed the db connection (to many connections). The other problem is that scince a few days the connection generally is very slow. I must wait sometimes more than 10 seconds to get a response from the page. (I think your page is awesome frequented ) But this is only a note from my side that there was an error today. Keep on that nice forum. I love it and I'm more than 2 or 3 hours a day on here regards Christian

Hi ! Indeed, that's not the first time the "too many connections" error happens. For some odd reason the sql server get stuck... We noticed it and restarted it a few minutes ago. Thanx for reporting anyway ! About the forum being very slow, I haven't noticed anything strange, might be your own connection Cheers,

Yes, it has been quite slow for me too, Christian. My broadband connection at home and my 3G connection on my iPhone 4 has been slow over the last few days. I've also seen the "to many connections" error too *Edit* Thanks SylMV for the explanation and the update

Hey, Thanks for the feedback. My connection is fast enough for that. At home I have for serfing miniumum 230kb/s when I use the second line which is normaly only for VOIP I could get 840kb/s. So it is fast enough.
When I go online via my Mobilephone I have mostly HSDPA/HSUPA and this should fast enough too.
regards Christian

I am used to it. Since I am member of this forum it needs some time to open threads, but nothing spectacular I usually open all new posts at once and when the first one is loaded I can start reading, if I am finished nearly all other threads are finished too. Cheers, Steve

To many connections means that the server is under an attack and closed down for safety

Diggin out this thread because I have tried to find a solution for the very very slow connection to the forum without any result. I did some traceroutes and pings to see if the connection is the problem, this is what I got: - Code: Select all
traceroute to forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets 1 speedport.ip (192.168.2.1) 0.540 ms 0.683 ms 0.905 ms 2 217.0.119.114 (217.0.119.114) 21.012 ms 22.468 ms 22.925 ms 3 217.0.84.54 (217.0.84.54) 24.992 ms 26.409 ms 217.0.84.50 (217.0.84.50) 26.542 ms 4 f-ee4-i.f.de.net.dtag.de (62.154.14.250) 62.987 ms 65.356 ms 65.513 ms 5 fra-1-6k.de.eu (94.23.122.153) 38.345 ms * * 6 rbx-g1-a9.fr.eu (91.121.131.197) 49.795 ms 36.494 ms 38.416 ms 7 rbx-2-6k.fr.eu (213.186.32.234) 47.342 ms 48.239 ms rbx-1-6k.fr.eu (94.23.122.105) 41.039 ms 8 rbx-34-m1.fr.eu (213.251.191.225) 42.047 ms 36.110 ms 37.521 ms 9 forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103) 38.286 ms 39.720 ms 41.564 ms stefan@stefan-desktop:~$ ping forum.mixvibes.com PING forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=1 ttl=56 time=35.1 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=2 ttl=56 time=34.8 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=3 ttl=56 time=35.0 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=4 ttl=56 time=35.3 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=5 ttl=56 time=34.9 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=6 ttl=56 time=34.6 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=7 ttl=56 time=34.8 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=8 ttl=56 time=35.0 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=9 ttl=56 time=34.3 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=10 ttl=56 time=34.8 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=11 ttl=56 time=34.8 ms 64 bytes from forum.mixvibes.com (91.121.108.103): icmp_req=12 ttl=56 time=35.3 ms ^C --- forum.mixvibes.com ping statistics --- 12 packets transmitted, 12 received, 0% packet loss, time 11015ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 34.319/34.939/35.385/0.349 ms
So everything seems fine, no hop that slows down the connection and I think it is something inside of mixvibes that is slowing down?! Maybe the database, where all the posts are stored is so damn slow?! If I open the forum everything works quick, the forum overview opens up very quick too but even if I open any thread it sometimes takes more than 30 seconds to open. Any comment is welcome! Cheers, Steve
