sorry to be a pain but one more question. i want to know how i'm able to split the sound into two outputs. i have a usb sound card so i can plug my headphones into that but when i try to plug speakers into the computer output it only plays through my headphones. does anyone know how i can split it? so i can use the cue in my headphones?

check out the posting for asio4all, used on windows os to tie two sound cards together to use one for main and one for monitoring, there are numerious postings on two sc in the help section, a little bit more info on your setup would help , also what software and version you are running it can work , but a multi channel sc might deal with it better

Yes, Daniel is right, to run several sound-cards you need to have Asio for all. In order to run one or more sound-cards at the same time you need to have the key symbol crossed on the bottom right hand corner (as seen in the image).

i've downloaded asio but how to i get to that window? theres no icon anywhere i can click to start it up.

It will start up in Cross DJ automatically, you'll need to do:
- Preference
- Audio
- In that first big bar, select Asio4all in the Asio list.
- This will allow you to use several sound-cards

This will allow you to use asio4all while mixing.
