i'm running DVS 7.4 with the standard U46DJ sound card and a Behringer DDM4000 mixer. my problem started when i added a set of Novation Dicers to my setup.
when first installing the dicers they install a "USB audio device" and a "USB composite" device. I believe the audio driver is causing a conflict with Mixvibes.
1. with the dicers installed MV tries to use the "USB Audio device" drivers installed by the Novation dicers.
2. a.the Asio4All drivers mark the output of the U46DJ as "beyond logic" b. tried swithcing to the ESI drivers and have the same result.
3. with just the soundcard installed everything works fine,
4. all of my sound card seems to be stuck in Directx mode in mixvibes anytime i have both the U46DJ and the Dicers installed.
5. i've checked my USB hubs in device manager and disabled power management. also, i've checked and none of the USB ports are being over used.
config file attached, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, before having the issue, you were using only the soundcard, you were able to play music it was working fine. Then you installed the novation dicer and at that point you started to have some problems.
Are you still able to play music or are there audio drops?

i believe the audio driver is used to send the MIDI data to MV, turning it off made the dicers not work.
when i plug in the dicers all audio stops. if i setup mixvibes without the dicers everything works great, but once the dicers get addded the sound stops.
after some research i think it may be a problem with the way my notebook handles USB 1.1 devices on it's root hub.
i've also been able to work around the problem by adding a 4 port USB hub and then connecting the dicers to it, it's strange but it seems to get the job done.

Is it an iCore laptop, i heard from quite a bunch people they solved their usb1.1 problems with hubs. though i never heard of one with problems regarding the dicers... Anyway, i still think it´s strange that there´s an audio-driver installed with the dicers, shouldn´t it only be the generic midi-driver

yep, i did some research and many people are having the problem with core Ix based motherboards. so far the only solutions are to use a simple usb hub or get an expresscard USB 3.0 card that installs a new PCI USB hub for the 1.1 devices to use. as for the driver install, i'm not sure either. My other MIDI device is the Korg Uno 1x1 USB to MIDI for my DDM-4000, and like you said it installed as a generic MIDI device. last question. any hope of getting MIDI out in MV DVS? it would nice to send the LED data back to devices for dark environments. either way cheers and ....on with progress

Hey,
for what function do you need the MIDI send? I know that DVS can enable lights for example cue or play buttons. I tested it with my Behringer BCD2000.
So which function do you want to map and have you the MIDI note for the light?

thanks a million but please give me a little time. i just got the Dicers up and running and i'm working out the mapping now. i would also like to get the lights on my DDM-4000 running to if possible.
if you can point me in the direction you got the commands or a how to from i can probably figure out how to write it up myself.
also does anyone know where the MIDI settings .xls file is?? it contains a detailed description of all MIDI commands in MV. I found it once in an old forum posting but have no clue.
