American Audio VMS4 Experience

Postby Faizel M on 05 May 2011, 14:08

Hi Everyone,

Can anybody please share their experiences in running Mixvibes Cross 1.5.0 with the AA VMS4. I checked out the video on Youtube but at the time their was concerns about the sound quality of the effects.

Jim B also make mention of the VMS4 but I'm not sure if he managed to get one.

Please share

Indeed, I was considering buying one until I started to read all the bad experiences users were having with the controller after it was released. I believe now that some of the issues have been sorted.

A friend of mine had one for a brief time. He told me that the actual controller side of the unit was good but the sound quality from the inbuilt soundcard was pretty terrible.

I guess you get what you pay for at the end of the day.

From what i read and heard, the quality of the controller was not so good! There where at times some hardware and software issues, i would not recommend this controller!

Thanx Guys.
Much appreciated. I guess that idea is out of the window. Is there any inputs on AA's Versadeck?

Hello,

I am not quite sure of what is AA's Versadeck, so please explain me what it is in order to give you more details.

If your looking for a good controller to control Cross, then you could either go with the U-Mix Control Pro, which is made and developed by MixVibes and for Cross, or you could go with the Vfx Control which is made and developed by us! Here is a link to both product page:

U-Mix Control Pro

Vfx Control

Hope this will help you out!

Hey,
maybe i can give some light here. I have a VMS4 since March and I didn't have had any trouble up to now.
Positiv: It is an Analog 4 Channel Mixer, nearly every button/fader/knob is midi-assignable, you can handly every typical function via your controller (effects, loops, scratches, track seletion, etc.), solid case.

negativ: low headphone output, music output not matchable with typical analog products, knobs feel cheep but they are stressable,

Soundcard: Asio driver is ok, 4in 4out is useable for timecode cd/vinyl, 8 out is not Cross comatible. i set up my latency up to 4ms and it works great.

Up to know i am finishing my midi-control-set so that all available buttens are blinking and so on ... :D

If there are any questions left, feel free to ask. If you like i can make a short video with all funktions...

greets
