Hey,

ok. Oh iTunes opened ;) jear it needs a lot. On my Computer when I opened iTunes it use more than 500MB. When playing films or serfing in the store it uses more.

I hope when iTunes is not running it will work better. Normaly it should work than perfekt because my DVS runs great with recording on the same System. And my system at home is P4 with 1GB RAm and XP Professional. So it is a realy small system :D :D

regards
Christian

:D Sounds promising then! What buffer size do you use?

On DVS 7 you have no special controll over the buffer. But my U46MK2 has a latence of 128 with Buffer 2 and 48kHz. And it works perfect. Sometimes when my Kaspersky (Antivirus and Firewall) is running I must change from 48 to 44,1kHz. After that it works also well.

Funnily enough, the bundled driver with Cross 1.4 does not let me select 48,000khz. The latest one did...but then of course we go back to the beginning of the thread!

oh ok. Yes the 48kHz need more of the bandwidth of the USB and also more Memory and so on. But on 44.1 it is good enough ;-).

And is it better without iTunes?

Good news. No23 recorder seems to be the answer. :) Had a couple of glitches but I think with a little more experimenting with buffer size I'll be able to get rid of those.

Thanks for all of the advice. I just discovered the tutorial on recording  Some useful tips in there that I really should've noticed beforehand.
