Wassup guys?!? This message is gonna be complex, so please bare with me! I just got a MacBook- it's a hand-me-down, but it has the new 10.6.6 Leopard OS & works fine. I'm gonna upgrade the processor & ram in a week or two (1TB, 720, 2GB Sata, 3.0USB... all I know, it's gonna be FAST!), but for now, I'm using my SeaGate 500GB 7200 Pro external hard drive as my library storage (to save space on the Mac). I would wait to do anything til after I upgrade, but I've still got gigs to do on the weekends! Here's what I want to know: Other than the standard instructions for installation, is there any other steps I need to take to get the best performance out of MixVibes Cross on my MacBook? For example- when I installed MV Cross on my PC, it wouldn't work properly. After stressing out half to death, I found out through this forum that I needed to install a driver (MK46 or something- it's installed, I just don't remember the name of it)! Do I need to install a driver on the Mac? If so, is it the same one (it's also backed up on my external hard drive, so I can just copy it to my Mac if so)? I'm gonna install MV Cross tomorrow (right now, it's 3:20am, EST, US) & my gig's Satursay night, so any help I can get between now & then would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Thank you in advance for y'alls help!

The driver you have is probably for the PC/Windows. What you need to do is to download the Mac version of the driver or control panel. I believe it can be found here [MAC] OSX U46MK2 control panel

Yeah, the driver I have is for the PC- I just wasn't sure if it was universal or not (I didn't think it would be- that'd be too easy). Thank you for your help- I'm gonna check it out tomorrow!

Here we go again... I installled Cross, remembered that the disc I have is outdated, so I found Cross 1.5.0 & installed it. I downloaded the driver via the link you sent me. I started everything up, went to assign the channel lines under Audio Preferences & it only let's me assign 1& 2 to one of my inputs. I tried setting 3 & 4 to the other, but that didn't work either. I'm gonna need the crash course again, but for Mac this time! The trouble shooting before was for PC, so it won't help me... Thanks in advance for your help, whoever can!

*UPDATE* I just found out that everything works, but my DJ program isn't recognizing my music files bc they're stored on an external hard drive, not on the Mac! Kinda sucks, but I know it's gonna work when I store the files ON the Mac itself... Let me rephrase that: it RECOGNIZES the music files, iTunes, playlists, everything- but, when I drag the file up to the right deck (on the screen), it can't do anything bc the files located externally... I THINK!? Either way, I'm sure it'll work once I store the files Internally, but what do I need to do for Cross the play the files while they're stored Externally? (Btw- yes, I have the Hard Drive connected through the USB)

Cross can handle files from external drive, but the issue must be with iTunes, I'll drive some tests to see.

Back : case 1 - files on a usb drive - import files to iTunes - open Cross / iTunes tab - files can play
case 2 - files on a usb drive - delete user/music/iTunes folder - open itune, change path of the xml folder - import files to iTunes - open Cross / iTunes tab - files can play
case 3 - files on a usb drive - open itune - import files to iTunes - close itune - move content of user/music/iTunes folder to external drive - open Cross / iTunes tab - files can play
Can you please tell me how you did yours ?
