vynal not working?

Postby DJ-CJ on 13 Jan 2011, 16:38

hey! im a new user for mixvibes and i love it its great, i use the cd time codes where i DJ in a bar and it works perfect, but i took my turntables in to use the vynals and i set it all up as intructed, now the music came out but it was very distored and hard to hear, on the mixer the volumes was extreamly high, i dont know what was wrong and would really like to know what i can do to make it work, thanks, chris.

Check your phono/line setting on the mixer, you should be on line.

U46 : line, so no preamp operating
Cross : phono because this is what we get from the U46
Mixer : line this what the U46 is sending

You need to select what you want to record A/B/Mix but you can't record what is happening outside of the software, so it will only work into internal mode.

All I want to record is the music I'm playin on both a and b, I don't want to record my voice on the mic or the crowd just the music I'm playin on each deck, can I record that and how do i listen to it cos I have recorded a mix but I can't listen to it.

Have a look into the Cross preferences, there you can see the folder where you recordings are saved to.

You will not be able to hear your mixes, as Cross will only record in Internal mixer mode i.e. With software only or with a controller.

If you are using a external mixer then you will need to use a output on the mixer such as, a record or booth output. Then you can use something like Audacity to record the mix.
