What is your default soundcard ?
Do you have any chat application (skype ? webcam) or audio application that run in the background ?

The m-audio delta audiophile is my default card and i don't have any application like that running in the background - i usually run Winamp in the background (which also uses the m-audio card for output) but the error is also occurring when Winamp isn't running.
I'll attach a system report to this post, maybe it will help you.

Greetings,

Markus

The MV3.0 are 64 bits drivers so it should work. Try with asio4all so we'll know if it is driver related or not.

I tried that now - it doesn't work. When i want to switch to ASIO4All in Cross i get the message that some channels are used by another application - and i really have no idea what application/s that are, because i have closed every app using any audio interface. Another strange thin is that ASIO4All's taskbar icon is constantly switching between the red "!" and the green ">" and no channel of the U46MK2 is marked as "blocked/used by other app" in ASIO4All's options dialogue.
I'm really confused now...

If asio4all is blinking red then you have communication issue with the hardware.
Try other usb port with asio4all to see if it get better.

Did you install all the motherboard/chipset drivers ?

I've tried that before and now tried it again - it doesn't work, and i did install all drivers that came with the MB's support cd.

seems like we have...as soon as i select a4all in Cross, latency just goes nuts... :(

Edit: I'll try reinstalling the MB drivers now

2nd Edit: Nothing changed. Look, i don't know what's going on with my system, it just gets slower and slower every time i reboot. It just makes me very angry if everything is refusing to work....and what i do in such situations is reinstalling the whole OS. ;)
I got an appointment now and when i'm back i will re-install Windows, reset BIOS and see if it works after that.

Greetings and thanks for your efforts,
