I have just received the discover DJ Mix Vibes mp3 mixer as a present and disappointed not to be able to use headphones to use as monitor to track B while track A is playing through the stereo - on traditional mixers you would be able to control both monitor volume and either bring in both tracks with volume controlled mix or individual tracks to line up your mix. It should be a standard feature on any mixer so why is there no feature on this mixer? or am I missing something? I run the software through an Apple Mac, Snow Leopard.

With which audio interface? The internal with just one sound output? If so you know why you can just hear the master or the cue. You need two (!) sound outputs, one for the cue, one for master.

I have the internal Mac sound output which goes through a separate amp - The headphones plug into the amp. There is no channel monitor on the mixer though so no sure what you mean by 2 outputs - where would the additional output be on the mac/mixer?

That's the point! If you do not have two outputs you can not have to different signals! You need another or an additional audio interface so that you have two output channels Greetings, Steve

Forgive me for not being able to exactly follow your explanation, but was hoping you might be able to elaborate. I'm having the same issue, I can't preview music. I have plugged the DJ system directly to my PC via the usb cable but when I plug my headphones into the jack all I get is the sound no longer coming out of my monitor speakers, it now comes through the headphones. Is there another accessory that I need to buy that will allow me to continue to use my PC but also preview music? Thanks for any assistance.

I am having a similar problem, and also don't understand what is needed. Could someone be kind enough to offer a detailed explanation of how/what kind of setup is needed.

It can't work, you only have one output so you can't route the monitor signal anywhere. You need an additional output.
