Record doesn't work Maya44SE on WIn 7 X64 (X86 it does work)

Postby goonie on 26 Sep 2010, 14:42

Hello,

I have passed now from Win X86 to X64 (new computer) and i installed the new drivers for X64.

Everything works fine except for recording which is possible on WIn7 X86. When i record, i get a very ugly sound.

Is there anything i can do to play and record at the same time ?

Thanks a lot.

As far as I can see the Maya 44 SE has two stereo inputs and two stereo outputs. So if you are using timecodes you are using both inputs and can not route your mixer's sound into the audio interface.
If you have an controller or if you are controlling DVS 7 LE with your keyboard you have two free inputs where you can plug your mixer's output in and record. If this sounds ugly is there a button in the audio interface's control panel where you can switch between "Phono/Lin Input" or something like that? If so choose Line In because if you are choosing Phono the signal is routed through a RIAA that may not sound the way you want it to.

Greetings,

Steve

In fact i got exactly the same configuration as on a Win7 X86 and it works.

I don't use the input of the Maya 44SE except one for the recording.

The fact is that i am able to record but i got a very bad sound quality.

I uploaded two files. It is the same song but the one is the original MP3, the other recorded from the Maya 44 sound card.

Original sound = http://www24.zippyshare.com/v/83821864/file.html

Same song recorded = http://www18.zippyshare.com/v/23287731/file.html

With exactly the same configuration, i dont have such issue on a Windows 7 X86.

Can someone help ?

But did you set the input levels in the audio pane ?

I tried on a W7x64 with 3 different maya 44 usb :
- bronze label
- brigth label
- SE label
and all 3 works flawlessly.

Send me your config report.

Indeed strange.

The only weird thing i noticed is the fact that when i uninstall the Maya and install it again, it will only work in the same USB port than the one before. A bit crazy :)

Ok, your version of DVS is outdated I don't think it support W7 and the maya44 usb is well known to be very special :
- always use the same usb port
- remove the soundcard when switching the computer off because in some case, the usb is still powered and on the next reboot, the system don't see the soundcard due to the fact that it was already switched on (no detection).
