Vfx Control - not play VCD files (.DAT)

Vfx Control does not find files .DAT (VCD - Karaoke), what I can do?
Can it play these files?

Are you planning an upgrade?
It only needs the right codec in order to be able to play .DAT files.
I have borrowed a Vfx from your dealer for the time being, but most of the karaoke songs are in .DAT file and therefore the device is currently useless for me. The .MP4 music clips are OK.

Hi dirami,

DAT files are ok since I think they use MPEG1 codec.

So the only problem is the extension. You can rename your .dat file to .mpg or wait next release around this november.


(remember that Vfx dont support Karaoke files, I mean with separate text file. So lyrics must be inlaid in video)

So I rewrote it, Vfx see the file, but it does not load.

how many big is the files ?
if you try load the longs movie from CD
have a many problems of 650Mbyte of file
and the 65 minutes longest of video.
Copy the videotracks in the HD !
and cut the video in single clips (in .MPG extensions).
You can set the maximun time of file
in the preference of Vfx.

The .DAT file size ranges from 30.000 to 45.000 kB. I converted one song into .MPG file, which now has 203.722 kb and the device plays the file normally. It is necessary to upgrade Vfx Control and then it should be OK. I cannot convert about 1000 songs in .DAT files into .mpg files.

I also have a PCDJ VJ - DAC3 hardware and software controller and it is able to play .DAT files without any difficulties and also allows individual codec setting. However, it has some other problems.
I thought that VFC Control would be better, but so far I only have been experiencing problems, see my next reference: Light Off
