whining noise on recording from one deck

evenin all, can anyone help please, when i play back my recordings there is a high pitched whining noise comin from one of the decks, very annoying, any help much appreciated !! ??

are you using the u46mk2?

you may find that the input monitors of your sound cards config utility is have not been muted... the input monitor lets you monitor the inputs to the sound card in real time... in this case it would be the time code control signal, not nice to listen to at all...

mute them and all should be fine..

I think you just turn the volume sliders down; not mute them- otherwise no signal is allowed through ;)
