I used VirtualDJ for 2 years or so before I switched to Mixvibes. VirtualDJ has become very bloated!!!! I'm very glad I switched to Mixvibes Can't wait to get this controller set up and running with the forthcoming update for Cross. What I've heard of the update, it's going to be awesome!!!!

Well, the VMS4 has been out a couple of days now. I was going to pre-order one but I'm glad I didn't.
I've been reading on VirtualDJ forum (VirtualDJ supplies it's LE verson with the unit) that it seems to be a right mess with software/firmware issues.
Also a few people have got quality issues with the unit too, Jog wheels being off centre with one another, scrapping sound and feeling with one of the jog's, different brightness of LED's and pitch control problems. I guess this all stem's from rushing the unit though production, or is it just the quality of American Audio gear any way.
I was hoping to get it going with Cross, but I'm going to hold of buying one till American Audio can sort it out, by correcting the problems with a new model or a firmware update.

Maybe you take a look at RELOOP's DIGITAL JOCKEY 2. There are 3 versions. The last one will be launched these weeks and includes soundcard (with ASIO) and some Mixer functionality (Mastering edition). I checked a friend's "Interface edition" last week (build in soundcard without more Mixer-func.) and installed the brandnew Cross DJ for him in his pub. In my opinion the RELOOP is fine in quality and works awesome with Cross / Cross DJ 1.4. Some of the features of the VMS4 are missing but it seems as this is for increasing the overall quality for some gooooooood reason. give it a check at your local dealer and combine with Cross 1.4. It's satisfying for me (Although I love my VCI-100)...

Thanks Ralf, I will certainly look into this. I have also seen another controller that has court my eye in the last couple of days, the new Denon DN-MC6000 I haven't really seen the full spec's of the controller yet, but what I have seen it certainly looks awesome. If it has full MIDI learning which I guess it will have, I will be purchasing one, that's if the price is reasonable!!!!!! The idea of getting a VMS4 now has gone in the bin.

And if you ask me Denon stands for a better quality than American Audio does! Don't get me wrong, I do not want to blame anyone in here using American Audio hardware but every piece I saw was not worth further interest - sorry! This is my opinion!

Yes, you're right Steve. Denon products are far better and higher quality than Audio American, and the price reflects that to some degree.
