Postby daniel clark on 08 Apr 2010, 23:46

  the last little bit of figuring out about Cross
1- Cross DJ is only MIDI controlled, ,Cross is time code controlled and MIDI learn,,. (beside keyboard shortcuts).
--rather get Cross and wait for the updates/new features than get Cross DJ and be lacking in that sence,
-dont like the shortness/cheapness of discover DJ controller, but would like the ability to control the program with out comp mouse, see that phaded uses Cross DJ, curious to what MIDI controller u use and the extent of control..been surfing and probly perfer the jog wheels but havent seen them work other than the vids.,no sratcher here just want to control and beat match/blend for mixes and transtions,,,any opions and insioht would be welcome   smiley face time

Would get MV Cross (as u can use timecode control also)for sure rather than Cross DJ....
For MIDI controllers, the Vestax VCI-100 is pretty bombproof, and compatible with lots of DJ softwares, and thus costs a bit more than 'other' controllers(it is already mapped for Cross also).
There is also the Denon DN-HC1000S which is way cheaper, but has large 'knobs' instead of 'wheels' which is another option...Even the Vestax VCM-100 which has a built in Sound card, but not sure on the compatibility with Cross. You could pick up the latter 2 options cheaply on 'ebay' or 'Craigslist' (VCI 100's tend to old their price)....

Cheers

I love Cross DJ, I use it with the Arcade VCI and a couple other things. It's very stable, I've used it at quite a few gigs now without a hitch. Keyboard-less mixing is awesome!

I'm positive that Cross DJ will also have MIDI learning, since it's just Cross without vinyl control.

I suppose if you think you will never need/use the timecode control, then go for Cross DJ as Phaded recommends (and uses) .
Same functions, and should fulfill your needs ;)

Cross DJ is a full program, only way it wouldn't be is if you were using Cross DJ LE. I don't understand your position on not being able to get new features, as all updates are free.

Also, it's possible to record your vinyls through the bypass function.
