Problem with U46MK2

Postby djjosep on 11 Feb 2009, 00:39

Hi everybody!

This morning I bought the DVS Pack MK2 and when I connect the U46MK2 to my laptop, it doesn't recognise it although it turns on. The same happens when I connect the U46MK2 to another computer I have (not a laptop).

I've tried to put an additional power supply to the sound card, but still the same problem. In both computers I have Windows XP SP3, and they recognise perfectly any other USB devices...

Can anyone help me, please?

Thank you very much!

Hi Josep,

have you tried installing the driver for the U46MKII first before you plug it in and switch it on?

regards,
Bryan.

ok, this is going to sound strange... on your laptop, switch it off... remove the power supply and the battery... press the on button (nothing will happen btw).. then connect it all up again and try again.

on your desktop, unplug the desktop from the mains power (not just switching it off), the connect it back up and try again.

SP3 i causing alot of trouble at the moment with usb devices, you should google it and see how other people are solvong the problem... though 9/10 times the solution is getting rid of sp3. really it depends on the usb device and the hardware root hub within the computer..

let us know how you get on..

regards,
Bryan

do u use a usb-hub?

don't use it... sometimes the laptop doesn't recognize the U46MKII if you switch it to a hub... so please connect it directly to a usb-port of your laptop...
maybe it helps you... if not, i tried ;-)

is it possible fot you to check the U46MKII on a computer that doesnt have XP SP3? maybe an XP SP2 install or VISTA...

it is odd how it doesnt work on any of your systems, though if it fails to work on other installs there may be a chance that the U46MKII you have is busted in some way...

you will have to contact you vender to resolve this issue..

let us know how you get on,

regards,
Bryan
