CrossDJ LE - key assignment issue

Postby Coval_pl on 28 Dec 2012, 02:06

Hello everybody! :)

I'm new user of CrossDJ LE software I bougt with Dixon 1ST Mix (marked as SilverCrest by Lidl market).
Software is powerfull, but I found a little bug (?). It's unable to assign keys "/" , "*" , "-" , "+" and "." on numeric keyboard. Truelly it's possible but Cross doesn't respond on pressed key listed above. It's problem for me, becouse I've got usb numeric touchpad/keyboad attached to my notebook and I wanted to assign those 16 keys to hotcues and most important for me - headphones activation for decks A and B. It woluld be more comfortable to place this pad near Dixon instead reaching notebook keyoard behind controller.
Does anybody knows solution for this problem?

  couple of :?: ,,have you looked in the manual for setting a keyboard mapping for this ,,
not shure how to seperate the two if Cross reconizes both key boards ,,if you are replacing the laptop key board with this usb keyboard ,,reconized as such in the o s then it should be mappable.,, i use a logiteck g15 ver 1 keyboard and can mapp all of the numerics and also use shift to gain double control,,only thing havent figured is how to apply the macros  will try to look up the hard ware you are trying to use ,,a littlkle bit more info to your set up and maybe links to the hardware might be helpful

Now I cant reply for this post, so this is content of screenshot above:

"This keyboard looks almost the same like this one:

http://techcrunch.com/2009/10/09/numeric-keyboardtouchpad-combo-for-notebooks

When You press "Num" key keyboard toggles between numeric keyboard and touchpad mode. Widows recognizes it as additional numeric keyboard and doesn't replace notebook keyboard. When I try to map keys those keys, Cross shows f.ex. "numeric 8", "numeric 1", but when I press one of "-","+","/" or "." program displays only selectec key (without "numeric" word).I can assign those keys to desired functions and everythig's look fine. I can map this key on notebook keyboard also, but there is still no reaction. That's why I think it may be saome little bug."

Could anybody help me? Or somebody noticed the same issue?

Another solution would be autohotkey. It is a script for keyboard messages in example you can program it to send letter "a" when you press numeric "/" and you map a to the desired hot cue.

It is easy to use it, you'll have it figured out in about 10 minutes if you read the instructions.

it's a free download, just google it

Exactly.
I realized I did not test one more case. I don't know Cross behavior on full 101/102 keys keyboard on desktop computer with those key mapped. Situation I decribed above concerns notebook with external usb num pad.
I also realized another thing. I tried to use "+" by pressing "shift" and "=" keys, and this is obviously different key combination than "+" with "num lock" turned on. I'll chek it also and let You know.

So I checked all above:
On my full desktop keyboard mentioned combination doesn't working also.
Pressing "/" or "+" on numeric section displays selected key in configuration window, but Cross doesn't react when I press these keys.
The same situation is when I select f.ex. "Shift" and "+" on main part of keyboard.
I think it's a little bug.

 :?: this is a major due to the fact of limited key s on your numeric pad and not being able to map them  dont have the teck exp to tell you why they are not reconized ,, in my endevors to mapp key boards to be able to control software due to lack of a MIDI controller i came across two key right next to ones i was using to map various functions that didnt work ,,un able to map them ,apparently they send a different signal or smething that not reconized ,,,
