total bummer I've not mapped anything this weekend because I've been DJ'ing at a club and now I wanted to do some more mapping and Cross DJ seams to have forgotten all my out commands. I have not changed anything. The iMac I'm using to mapp on hassn't been used the whole weekend. Even 2 of the Gain knobs that were working fine on friday were not mapped this morning, I don't understand what is going on here as led's need to be edded from within the XML file.

May be you have the file opened by Cross and the editor at the same time. It happened frequently to me. :(
That's why I often export the working mapping within Cross to have the latest working version in a safe place.

I recommend TextWrangler on OS X for XML editing and it works great. Color codes the text and identifies minor issues and notifies you (like missing parentheses).

Sure beats using vi or vim. ;) (or notepad... :P ).

Others have their own personal preferences. :)

Don't forget to share your final mapping with everyone here so others can use it as well. :D

They're out there, but not easy to find.

In the manual is says this:
About MIDI Messages
For details on this unit's MIDI messages, see "List of MIDI Messages".
- "List of MIDI Messages" can be acquired from the following URL: http://pioneerdj.com/support

And then after a lot of trial and error and digging on the site I managed to find this (which is really what you're looking for ;) ):

http://pioneerdj.com/support/files/img/ ... ages_E.pdf

It was on this page - the right most 'button'.
http://pioneerdj.com/support/product.ph ... J-SX&t=180
(I'm linking this here because there is a lot of other stuff there with good information, firmware, etc.)

With midiox / midipipe you can found some of the basic MIDI codes for any devices.
