How do you play from a USB drive and keep the phone charged at the same time? Does it mean you better start your set with a fully charged phone?

Any ideas here?

Does it mean you should start your set with a fully charged phone and end when battery dies, or limit your library to what music can fit on your plug in SD card?

Use a powered usb hub.

And yes you best use internal mem/sd for your music.
